5~Star Review~Grayson's Vow by Mia Sheridan

Kira Dallaire is desperate.
Some challenges in life seem too hard to overcome. With little money, and even fewer options, the quick-witted and vibrant twenty-two-year-old needs to reinvent herself. Known for her generous heart and impulsive personality, she devises a survival plan, possibly her most outrageous idea yet.
Grayson Hawthorn is losing hope.
Some obstacles in life seem too hard to overcome. Betrayal definitely being one of them. With limited capital, and dwindling resources, he is attempting to resurrect his failing family vineyard, a self-imposed vow seemingly destined to fail. That is until a young woman enters his office with an outlandish, unexpected proposition impossible to refuse.
What begins as a temporary business arrangement, soon evolves into more as vivacious, spirited Kira challenges detached, arrogant Grayson to want more from life. To want more for himself. But as their wills clash and fiery passion ignites, they’ll realize that sometimes the past creates walls too difficult to climb, and that lies and deception rarely precede a happily every after.
As Kira and Grayson race toward their destiny, they will discover that some vows are meant to be broken, and others are worth risking everything for . . . even your very own heart.

Trixie's Review

After reading Grayson's Vow I feel emotionally drained. In a good way. I knew before I started the book, that I would be getting deep, layered, flawed characters and a compelling story with lots of emotion. Because that's Mia Sheridan's signature.
And she didn't disappoint.

The story kinda felt like a fairy tale. There's a witch, a dragon and a castle. In this case the witch is the beautiful 22 year old Kira. The dragon is Grayson, an ex-con who's spent 5 years in prison for murder. He has since returned home to his neglected vineyard, which he is trying to restore back to new. But he's lacking financial support, since his income is non-existent. Kira has returned home after spending a year in Africa and is seeking her independence from her powerful father and her devious fiancé. She has inherited her grandmother's fortune, but in order to get it released she has to get married. Coincidentally she sees Grayson at the bank and then comes up with a ploy. She has a 'business' proposal for Grayson, and what follows is an emotional roller coaster ride with a lot of suppressed emotions.
I loved Kira. What an incredible, beautiful and exceptional woman. She made me laugh out loud and sobbing with tears. Kira has such a big heart and wants/tries to help the people around her. She pushes, resists and challenges Grayson at every turn. But only to make Grayson realize that he matters. That he's wanted.

"If you let it, pain makes more space for love within you. And the love we carry inside makes us strong when nothing else can".

Grayson is a broken, stubborn and beautiful man with raw primal emotions. He hides behind his build up walls and try not to let people in. He's been hurt and disappointed too many times. Especially by his father, stepmother and brother. The only people close to him is Charlotte, the housekeeper and her husband Walter, who's the butler. They've known him since he was a baby. Grayson is caught in Kira's spell. As much as he tries to resist by teasing her, it only makes him burning up with need. She truly brings out the best and honest parts of him.
Kira and Grayson are to broken and flawed souls. But together they find and create light, warmth and joy. Not only in each other but also in the people that surrounds them.
Grayson's Vow is a character driven story with deep and layered characters. Not only the hero and heroine but also the secondary characters. Charlotte and Walter is proof of that. I was invested, intrigued and captivated by all of them and their stories.

My emotions were all over the place. And as it should be when I read a Mia Sheridan book. It was truly beautiful and at times heartbreaking. I can't wait for my next ride in the Mia Sheridan emotional roller coaster.
