I was warned about Tristan Cole.

“Stay away from him,” people said.
“He’s cruel.”
“He’s cold.”
“He’s damaged.”

It’s easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster.

But I couldn’t do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him because it also lived inside of me.

We were both empty.
We were both looking for something else. Something more.
We both wanted to put together the shattered pieces of our yesterdays.

Then perhaps we could finally remember how to breathe.

I'm sitting here with so many thoughts running through my head.
This was one powerful and beyond captivating book
Wow!
Still speechless and when I start to think
about the whole story all over again,
my eyes tear up and my heart starts to hurt.

I'm not going to delve deeper into the story beyond what the blurb says.
It has to be experienced because there's so many twist and turns.
The only way to do that is to go into this book blind.
All I can say about the story-line is that it's about loss
and how fate can intervene and
intertwine with people's lives in the most unusual way.

The two main characters Tristan and Elizabeth experience loss
that's incomprehensible. They both deal with loss in their own different ways.
Tristan, being a man and feeling guilty pushes everyone who loves
him away and isolates himself.
Doesn't care what people think of him.
He pretty much acts like a self centered jerk.
Elizabeth needs support and people around her.
She needs to talk about things and her feelings.
She also has a huge lifeline in the form of her daughter, Emma.

When Tristan and Elizabeth collide with each other it changes both their lives forever.
Again, this was such an emotional ride.
To experience these two broken souls finding someone to hold on to.
They were finally able to share their grief and memories with someone.
To be with someone and to just let go and breathe.
What first began as a sexual relationship to deal with the pain of losing someone,
suddenly becomes something more deeper and magical.

This was my first book by Brittainy C. Cherry,
and I'm thrilled to say it will definitely not be my last.
What a story she has created.
It was mind blowing, breathtaking and beautiful.
I could go on and on.
It had me in tears one moment and the next laughing and smiling.
It was as raw as it was honest.
The secondary characters were equally important and strong as
the two main characters.
The story evoked feelings within me through out the whole thing.
Especially Tristan and Elizabeth's growing friendship turned
relationship was very emotional and moving to me.
I'm so glad I took a chance on this book.
I finally know what a book hangover feels like.
