Shame Me Not by Fiona Cole
Cover Design: Najla Qambar Designs
Release Date: July 26, 2017
Synopsis
Shame. Panic. Desire. Dominance. Disgust.
All feelings that I was familiar with from the age of sixteen.
That's when I met Ana. The girl next door who became so much more. Until her, I was alone in the dark desires that I didn't understand, that I couldn't reconcile. My best friend, she accepted me. Helped me see that there was no shame in the things that we both craved. Her submission was a drug, my dominance over her a high that I'd never experienced. When we were together, I was at peace for the first time in my life. But it was too good to last. Our own guilt over our feelings, of our appetite for pain and pleasure, destroyed us. I was convinced that all I needed was a chance, just one more chance to overcome my shame, and Ana would be able to trust me again. If only it were that easy.
Where did Fiona Cole come from?
I'm completely blown away
by Shame Me Not.
What a beautiful and captivating story
about friendship and acknowledging
your true self.
Kevin and Ana are just like any other 16 year olds except they hide who they truly are deep down.
They both wear masks but
not when they're around one another.
Kevin and Ana are best friends
and neighbors.
They share everything with each other except their hidden desires
and sexual preferences.
Kevin was amazing.
I instantly liked him for who he was
and how he cared for Ana.
No matter what, he was there for her.
When he had sex it had to be rough,
he had to be the one in control.
To dominate his partner.
I enjoyed Ana as well.
She moved to a new town
and just wanted to fit in.
Tried to please everyone but only Kevin's friendship mattered.
All her life she's been the one in charge and making decisions especially
when it came to her mother.
Ana was sick of sweet and soft.
She wanted to be dominated,
to be cared for.
When Ana and Kevin both revealed their true dark desires they finally let go.
It was intense, hard and erotic.
But still fears and insecurities hid beneath the surface throughout the years.
Shame Me Not spanned over ten years and no matter how strained their friendship or how intense and rough their sexual relationship became they could always
rely on one another.
Ana and Kevin's friendship was extraordinary.
I loved witnessing how it evolved from neighbors to best friends and how
important they were to each other.
There were heartbreaking and enthralling scenes that definitely made an impact on me. Kevin thought of himself as a monster when he was young and Ana looked at herself and saw a freak
when she became an adult.
She just wanted normal.
Fiona Cole depicted their struggles, fears and insecurities beautifully.
The incredibly intense and erotic scenes were mesmerizing. At no point did I dislike Kevin because of how rough he was towards Ana. They trusted each other explicitly.
Shame Me Not was a beautiful romance and love story. Fiona Cole shares a powerful message. To be honest, not hide yourself and communicate. Ana and Kevin made me smile, hurt, swoon and frustrated the hell out of me but their love and trust for one another was epic.
Shame Me Not was a winner.
Definitely a must read.

Title: The Bars Between Us
Author: A.S. Teague
Genre: Contemporary Romance
About The Bars Between Us:
I don’t have a damn thing in common with the beautiful rich girl who walks in to my bar. She’s southern class, fancy cars, and designer shoes.
I’ve got a drunk for a mother, a cheater for a father, and a reputation for trouble I’ve more than earned.
I look the other way, pretending I don’t notice how perfect she is. She wouldn’t give me the time of day anyway. Until she shatters that first impression and shows me she’s so much more––everything I never thought I deserved.
After a lifetime of being a disappointment, I want to prove to her that I’m better than my past.
We have one tragic thing in common, and the thread that binds us together will tear us apart as it unravels.
Are we strong enough to break through the Bars Between Us?

I was in a
bastard of a mood when the doorbell rang after I’d dropped the two
hundred-pound weight onto the rest. My chest burning, my ribs wracked with
agony, I curled up to my feet. Thought about a shirt. Thought, fuck it. It was probably just Brooks.
He’d become
my watchdog, checking in regularly, inviting me to his place for dinner with
him and Delaney, keeping the door open in case I needed to talk to someone
other than my sponsor.
Striding
through the house, I absentmindedly swiped at the sweat on my chest with the
towel I held.
I opened
the door.
Wished I
hadn’t.
My cock
went fully hard in an instant.
I draped
the towel in front of me, one hand notched on the doorframe, my chest bare,
Reggie’s chin barely reaching my shoulders.
Reggie. On my doorstep. Showing up out of the clear blue.
My lips
flattened as my heartbeat thudded in my chest.
Everything
that had broken open in that alley with Brooklyn I’d sealed back under. Until
this precise moment when Reggie lifted a bag in her hand and a smile on her
lips when I was pretty sure I’d never looked more threatening.
“I’ve got
some time off. Recuperation.” She angled a leg in tight faded jeans toward me.
“Sore tendon. Figured you’d know how to put me back together right as rain with
your PT background.”
“Funny.”
Hooking the end of the towel into the waistband of my shorts, I rasped my hands
across the dark shade of stubble on my jaw, and she watched every goddamn
stroke. “You don’t look injured.”
“You do.”
Her gaze—challenging—dropped to the bruise on my ribs.
Motherfucker.
“You came
to check up on me.”
“So what if
I did?” She shrugged one shoulder.
“You don’t
have to worry about me anymore.”
“I can’t
just turn it off, Calder.”
“I don’t
need or want your help.” I tried to maintain the barrier, nearly snarling at
her.
She merely
cast her eyes beyond me. “Are you going to invite me inside like an old friend
should?”
Old friend. Old pain.
I stepped
back. Barely.
She ducked
under my arm. Smiling.
Closing the
door, I sealed my body against it. “What are you really doing here?”
“Well, you
said you’d accept my calls.” She dropped her bags. Stood with hands on hips.
“You lied to me.”
“It’s what
I do, sweetheart.” Determined to piss her off so she’d leave because danger
lurked in the dark spaces of my mind.
I’d
forgotten she reacted like a lioness when cornered.
Rookie mistake.
In two
steps, Reggie was up against me, in my face.
Protect and dominate. The two different impulses swarmed
through me.
I wanted to
serve her up on a silver platter and plant my face between her thighs.
Then tuck
her against me in my bed, blankets all around, my arms a cradle.
Her eyes
hooked mine with nothing but unwavering intensity. “You have driven everyone away, Calder.” Her stance
blended her against me, and she had to feel the heat—the need and arousal—she
spiked in my body.
“I will not fucking let you go down one more
time.” Bleak, no longer dreamy eyes, rose to mine. “I’m not losing you to
self-pity or self-loathing or any other kind of hate you keep wrapping around
yourself.”
Looked like
I’d met my match.
I’d known
it all along.
Impossible.
“One man is
enough to lose.” Her voice dropped, but her finger pointed at my chest before
she spread her fingers over my careening heart. “And you have a choice in the matter.”
At her
unerring words, I went stock-still.

Excerpt
I’m hit by
a storm of desire to kiss him better. It’s a tornado, an avalanche in my body,
and in one breathless moment, I decide to go for it. It’s okay. I can take the
blame for it later.
I break the
rules and reach up and kiss him. A feathery peck on his plump lips, it’s a kiss
of solidarity, a kiss that intends to tell him I understand—but one isn’t
enough. It only manages to ratchet up my lust. So I give him another, this time
on the corner of his mouth, and then another one on his jaw.
It’s not enough, these small, barely-there
touches. I want more, but I won’t take it. I’ll be good; I’ll only give.
Abruptly,
he fists my curls and stops me. I look at him fearfully, ready to apologize—not
for the kiss, but for being the kisser. His gaze reflects passion, stark,
raving need, and I shiver, despite wearing layers and sweating with his heat.
“Are you
trying to kiss me, Layla?” he rasps, flexing his fingers on my makeshift
ponytail.
He couldn’t
tell? Blush rises to the surface and I know I’m glowing like a neon sign.
Swallowing, I nod. “Yes.”
He inches
closer to me, still not touching—as impossible as that is—but infinitely
closer. “You want to kiss me, Miss Robinson, you do it right.”
Oh God,
does he have to call me that? Now, here? My spine arches on its own and my
heavy tits graze the contours of his shuddering chest.
“H-How?” I
ask innocently, belying the daring action of my body. His stern, professor-y
voice is doing things to me, making me wild, uncontrolled.
For a
second, he’s silent, just watching. I’m afraid he’ll back out from whatever
this is, whatever insanity we’re about to commit—but then I sense the shift in
the liquor-laced air as he opens his mouth and growls, “Like this.”

I'm a big believer in love (obviously). I believe in happily ever after, the butterflies and the tingling. But I also believe in edgy, rough and gutsy kind of love. I believe in pushing the boundaries, darker (sometimes morally ambiguous) emotions and imperfections.
The kind of love I write about is flawed just like my characters. And I hope by the end of it, you'll come to root for them just as much as me. Because love, no matter where it comes from, is always pure and beautiful.
