This is the 2nd book in the series. Be sure to read Crashing Back Down to get a better grasp on the characters and what's going on. This book picks up where CBD left off. Thank God FFS because I was dying to know what happened! Again, Kristen Mazzola did a kick ass job of capturing the emotional trauma of losing someone. Whether through death or end of a relationship, the author delivers an excellent portrayal of the emotional roller coaster that many of us have been on. The internal battle between the heart and the mind were raging within Mags through most of the book. Have you ever just wanted something so bad you want to step in and make it happen? That's exactly how I felt. I wanted to scream at Walker and Mags, just do this... And then you can get what you want! I was captivated by the story, the depth of the characters and the strong emotional bond between the characters. Hell and of course and the hot ass sex!

This was a great book and I was excited to read it and find closure to all things that came up in CBD. I cannot wait to see what else Kristen comes out with!

I took fistfuls of his black, long-sleeved, cotton shirt, pulling him as close as I could get him. I wrapped my legs around his waist and began to kiss as passionately and roughly as I ever had. I was hungry to taste him again, to feel him again, to simply love him again.

Right then, everything melted away—the fact that we were in the middle of nowhere in a gas station, that I was supposed to hate his guts, that he had a Hyde side of him that was evil and tortured. In that moment, we were simply us—desperately and madly us.

Walker slowly shoved my jacket from my shoulders and tossed it on the metal chair next to us. Panting and gripping the hem of my shirt, he pulled away to look in my eyes. “Mags? Are you sure about this.”

I kissed him softly on the cheek. “Let’s just not think for little. Please.”

He nodded and pulled my hips hard into his, letting me feel how ready his body was for me. I pulled his shirt up over his head, revealing all the gorgeous artwork that covered his chest, shoulders, and arms. I traced my finger tips from the start of his wrist, following the flow of the inked lines until my fingers were stroking his rigid abs just over his belt buckle. Walker’s breathing was heavy as he watched me take in the manly beauty before me. Slowly, I started to kiss from his collarbone to his jaw, finally finding his soft, desperate lips.

This was Kristen's debut novel. It rocked the house! I was intrigued by the story-line. I couldn't put it down. The lead female character Mags suffers a horrendous loss and has no idea how to pick up the pieces of her barely started new life. She has an excellent support group of friends and family. The raw emotion that pours out of her heart and mind was easily relatable to me. Mags heart and mind never really come to an agreement, but she does allow herself to live a little. Thank God because the Hot Ass Southern Twangy Walker is just what she needs! Even though she feels like like she is betraying her late husband, she allows her heart to love again. How could something so right ever be wrong? Everything happens for a reason. Love. Loss. Life. Sex. Lies. It's all in here and Kristen drops a mind fuck of a bomshell at the end! Make sure you check out what happens in the conclusion Falling Back Together. There isn't a cliffy, but you will want some answers and book two tends to each and every one of those questions!
