I fell in love with this series when I read First Night, the prequel novella. Please read it so you have an understanding of who the characters are and how their story began. Also there will be spoilers if you haven't read it yet.
When we see Julia again she working for Charlie. A shark in sheeps clothing, Charlie has her paying off some debt by winning cards games.Though Julia feels like she is selling her soul to Charlie, she's almost out from under his thumb. This is her biggest, dirtiest secret.
Clay has not stopped thinking of his perfect woman, Julia. She is everything he's been looking for in a partner. She is sexy, snarky, smart and adventurous in bed. Clay has been hurt before and his biggest pet peeve is lying or keeping secrets.
After spending a few nights together and getting to know each other better, it becomes clear to both Clay and Julia, this is more than just a fling. After opening up and sharing some of their secrets, will Clay be able to forgive Julia for keeping the biggest secret? Julia fights with her self if she should let him in? Can he help her?
