Release Blitz - Corrode by Ella Fields

Title: Corrode
Series: Surface Rust
Author: Ella Fields
Genre: Contemporary/2nd Chance Romance
Release Date: November 4, 2017
It didn't matter how young we were.
We just knew.
Forever was stamped on our hearts, no matter what forces tried to keep us apart.
They tried, and they failed.
We were happy.
We lived, we loved, and we made plans.
But as the years went by, we watched helplessly as those plans faded into dusty aspirations.
Yet we endured.
Time and time again, we came out stronger.
Until life threw the ultimate test our way, and he surrendered.
Defeated and desperate, he made a choice.
One that tore all our promises in two—leaving me pregnant, alone, and terrified.
Now he's free, and that love is still there.
It's everything else that's changed.
Trigger warning: this book contains some sensitive subject matter.

I’m so freaking happy I discovered Ella Fields two months ago! Her two previous books Frayed Silk and Cyanide were incredible and with Corrode she’s cemented herself as a favorite author of mine. Damn, all the feels she delivered with this story. They kept coming at me constantly and hit me right in the heart and gut. It was pretty intense and it’s because she’s created some strong, flawed and well developed characters.

The foundation of Felix and Maggie’s relationship was created when they first met when they were eighteen and only grew stronger as the years passed. As did my connection and love for them. Their relationship and love was unparalleled. I loved that I got their history from when they first met and how they both evolved and grew in their relationship and as people. There was no doubt that they were each other’s soul mates, so when Felix made some wrong choices which had consequences my heart broke along with theirs.

How they found their way back to one another was depicted beautifully. I wanted the angst and the tension. I didn’t want an easy solution. I wanted Maggie and Felix to fight. For their love. For them. I got that and so much more. These characters made me cry, laugh and soar. I felt them!
The secondary were just as amazing cause they were critical to the story too. Jake and Warren were Maggie’s guardian angels. Jared and Vera aka Hero and Frost made me reminisce. Archie not only stole his parents heart, he also managed to steal mine.
The ending made me sit back with a gigantic smile on my face feeling very content with saying goodbye to these extraordinary characters. I’m saying goodbye but not letting go.

Ella Fields has delivered yet another spectacular book with Corrode. Her narrative is meticulously executed and I was immediately captured thanks to her flawless and intoxicating prose which is strong than ever. Ella Fields is definitely a wonderful and captivating discovery. I recommend all three books!

Every truth can be erased with one lie.
When a sinister truth is exposed, it forces Charlotte to question everything about herself. Even whether she’s worthy of Teller’s love.
The darkest betrayals never come from your enemies.
With Teller’s love roaring louder than the lies, Charlotte can finally put her demons to rest. But has too much damage been done for her to prove her loyalty to the Lost Kings?

Part 2 of Teller’s story was just as amazing as part 1. Marcel Teller made my ovaries explode and my toes tingle. His mouth is dirty when he’s in bed with his lady but more importantly he’s a sweet, gentle and protective man who loves fiercely. That was pretty obvious while reading Beyond Reason. His lady Charlotte is his complete match. Wow, how I loved them together. She’s strong, tough and knows the MC environment and rules which only is an advantage when you involve yourself with a King.

Her background history puts Charlotte in a dilemma and not only must she make a choice so must Teller. Love and loyalty towards the MC and between Teller and Charlotte are put to the test. The conflict was intense and enjoyed how especially Charlotte handled it and herself. Teller just proves again what kind of man he is. A man who will do anything for his Old Lady and loves her no matter what. Their chemistry is crazy. Blazing hot and liked how comfortable Charlotte was with her sexuality and that she knew what she wanted in bed.

The other King members are present and fantastic. They’re busting each other’s balls and are loyal to the bone. As rough and gritty this series can be it’s all about family. The two epilogues were incredible and the perfect teaser for what I hope is yet to come. Beyond Reason is Book 9 in the series and I’m left wanting more.

A Charm of Finches
Suanne Laqueur
Release Date: November 1, 2017

Synopsis
From the author of An Exaltation of Larks comes the long-awaited second book in the Venery series.

“I swear. Give me one more chance, and I will make the most of it.”

Ex-escort Javier Landes is asking for his third chance at love. The third time proves to be the charm when he meets an art therapist named Steffen Finch. What starts as casual deepens into a passionate relationship—everything Jav has ever wanted, and everything he fears losing.

Stef’s business card reads Curator & Sailor. His creativity and insightful nature have made him into a talented therapist, the one to call for tough cases. His professional success can’t conceal a deep need to connect with someone, but Javier Landes is the last person Stef expected.

Geronimo "Geno" Caan is Stef's most challenging case. To cope with his ordeal, he's allowed an alter-ego called Mos to make decisions, and now lives a double life within a web of lies. Under Stef’s navigation, Geno uses art to express what he can’t yet speak aloud. But as Geno’s attachment to Stef gradually extends to Jav, the boundaries between professional and personal begin to blur.

Over the course of a year, Jav, Stef and Geno form an unexpected and unconventional triangle, revealing how men make love in times of war and how love is a great wisdom made up of small understandings. A Charm of Finches is an epic tale of survival and secrets guaranteed to make you think and feel and remember.

I know that when I read a book by Suanne Laqueur, that I need to prepare myself for something unique and brilliant. This was also the case with A Charm Of Finches. Laqueur is truly a gifted writer and storyteller.
Already at 6% and my emotions were in turmoil. I quickly established a connection with her characters and then there was no way back. I immersed myself in them and their story they had to tell.

Every character I met were deep and complex. Laqueur peels layers off these people meticulously which allows the reader to see a vulnerable and exposed side of them. When they’re at their worst and best.
Laqueur weaves world events into the story effortlessly so it’s applicable for the characters. It becomes a part of their history which shaped and influenced them.

I lived and breathed for Geno, Stef, Jav, Stav and Micah. I could continue mentioning names cause there were so many fabulous characters. As they became each other’s tribe they immediately became mine.
Their separate stories slowly intertwined with each other’s and it was executed flawlessly.
My heart broke for Geno and how his innocence was stripped and taken away from him. His journey to reclaim his voice, accepting his past and present was the heart of the story. Stef was his therapist but became so much more to Geno. As did the other characters.

Along their story another powerful one unfolded. A love story between Stef and Jav. I loved Javier in An Exaltation Of Larks and in A Charm Of Finches he and Steffen Finch captured and stole my heart completely. Their relationship was a thing of beauty. Their love was honest and real to me. Something truly remarkable thanks to Laqueur’s eloquent and exquisite prose that made me fall in love right along with Jav and Stef.

Yet again Suanne Laqueur has left me in awe. Her storytelling is brave and her narrative strong and on point. She has a vision for her story and with A Charm Of Finches she excels.
