Release Blitz - Perception by Kendra Leigh

Title: Perception
Author: Kendra Leigh
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: August 30, 2018

Blurb

Jackson Dean is a changed man—at least he thinks he is—but when a brush with the past leads him back into territory he’s long since left behind, he finds himself at war with his conscience. Snatching Savannah Harper from a Brooklyn street may have been okay with the wild and reckless guy he used to be, but what about now?

Savannah is used to a life of brutality at the hands of her husband, but being stuffed into the trunk of a car by a brown-eyed stranger injects a fresh wave of terror into her heart.

What transpires between Jackson and Savannah surprises both of them. Despite the unconventional way they’re thrown together, they form a bond that begins to challenge everything they know.

His Past. Her present. Their future.

Surrendering to the feelings they’ve unearthed will be a minefield, but it’s going up against the unknown that tests them to their limits.

As the lines between perception and reality blur, it appears that nothing is as it seems.

Perception is not reality… and reality can be soul-destroying.

Perception is a standalone romantic suspense novel featuring a favorite character from The Bound Trilogy. If you enjoy reading stories about strong women and their journeys from victim to survivor, and the men who will go to any lengths to fight for the women they fall for, then you will love this #MeToo inspired heart-wrenching romance.

Warning: Subject matter deals with domestic violence, including physical and emotional abuse, which may be triggering for some people.

Author Bio

Kendra Leigh fell in love with words and reading as a young child. She was at her happiest when Enid Blyton whisked her away up into the magical lands at the top of the Faraway Tree with Moon-face and the rest of the gang.

Now, of course, she has more of a fondness for chocolate, cheese and hot men in suits - not necessarily in that order.

Kendra devotes her life to her devilishly handsome partner, scandalously beautiful daughter and cute as hell Shih-Tzu. She believes in love at first sight, and as well as writing and reading, Kendra has a passion for great movies and brilliantly written TV.

“Sir?” The security guard phones in from downstairs. “There’s a woman here insisting she needs to speak with you.” “Name?” “Josephine Mays.” “Let her in.” I turn off the intercom and unlock my office door. A few minutes pass before the door flies open. Josie barges in, her hands fisted and an angry light in her eyes. “You are an asshole,” she snaps. “I’ve been told.” “How dare you pull that kind of stunt?” “It’s the truth.” “And we both know damned well you brought it up only because I’m involved.” She tosses her backpack and art portfolio onto a chair. She’s trembling with anger. “I don’t care what you think about me, but bringing the people of this town into our personal shit is low, even for you.” My shoulders tense. “Even for me? What do you know about me?” “Nothing anymore.” She slams her hands to her hips, her features twisting. “But I used to know everything about you. Do you remember that? Then you walked out on me right when I needed you the most, proving you were never the man I thought you were. Now I find out that you run this company like a dictator, you’re crushing independent businesses and putting people out of work, and you’re publicly trying to stop me from creating a mural that’s intended for both this town and my parents. What the hell happened to you?” “You happened to me.” The words fly out of my mouth before I can stop them. The pencil I’m holding breaks in two with the force of my grip. Josie steps back, her eyes widening. Her dark hair is windblown, her cheeks flushed, her chest heaving under her old army jacket. I’d once had the right to comb her hair back from her forehead, slide my palm over her neck before edging my fingers into her V-necked T-shirt... Anger crushes my chest. I shove away from my desk and stride toward her. Fear flashes in her green eyes, which pisses me off even more. When the fuck was she ever afraid of me? I grab the lapels of her jacket, yanking her closer. Our lower bodies collide. She gasps, a little catching noise in the back of her throat that used to get me hot in a second. It still does. My blood starts to boil. She tilts her head back, her eyes flashing. I lower my head to look at her, fighting to ignore her scent—goddamned summer leaves and cherry candy. “I once would have done anything for you.” The words grate roughly from my throat. “And then I failed you in the worst possible way. I failed you, I failed Teddy, and I failed your parents.” She stares at me, her eyes widening. “Cole, I—” “When you left, I hoped with everything I was that you’d have a chance at a normal life.” I pull her closer, anger warring with the undeniable flare of lust. “That you could be happy again if you weren’t constantly surrounded by reminders of everything you lost. Everything I took from you.” “Goddamn you, Cole Danforth.” Fire flames over her expression. She plants her hands on my chest and shoves herself away. “The only thing you took from me was you.”

We fell in love. Then our world fell apart.

New royal novella from Gigi Thorne.
Luke
Suffering due to sins of the father is typically how it goes, but as the son of a predatory and entitled mother, I’d fallen victim to the consequences of her indiscretions.

Her deathbed confession revealed my darkest secret. At my lowest point, I shared it with the two people I trusted the most.

It proved to be my biggest mistake.

For the last five years, I’d watched the woman I love reign with a man I despised. He stole my life, she allowed it, and I was about to make them both pay.

The only way to bring down a king is by stealing his queen.

Sarafina
Five long years without a single look my way. Luke believed that I’d betrayed him and I’d suffered in silence while he’d torn me apart with his playboy ways.

Set on vengeance, he refused my truth but not without doling out punishment I couldn’t resist. Little did he know I had plans of my own—if he’d only let me get close enough.

Blog Tour - Over The Edge by CD Reiss

BT-Edge-Banner.jpg

“This series grips you by the throat and refuses to let go—and you’ll be begging for more the entire time.” — Sierra Simone, USA Today Bestselling Author

Over the Edge, the stunning conclusion to the “intensely sexy” and “mind-blowing” Edge Series by New York Times bestselling author CD Reiss is available now!

over-the-edge-four-final.jpg
The epic conclusion to the intense and dark Edge Series.
Limits tested.
Boundaries shifted.
Descend into sanity.
------
This is Caden and Greyson's final story.

This final installment of The Edge series was one hell of a ride. I buckled up and was ready cause with how the previous book ended I knew Over The Edge would come at me with 100mph and I was right. Greyson and Caden’s love is forever and they will do anything for one another. Greyson proved and showed that in the previous three books and culminated with the ending of Broken Edge. She took a drug that was intended for Caden and now all bets were off.

How would Greyson react to something that wasn’t meant for her and would she remain the woman Caden knows and loves? Over The Edge continues right where Broken Edge ended. With Greyson taking the BiCam shot. This time around it’s Caden’s turn to stand by his love and do whatever it’s in his power to bring his woman back cause he slowly sees different sides to this woman that isn’t Greyson. Or are they?

There were so many thrilling scenes in Over The Edge and especially the reason for why Greyson is the way she is sexually. I was biting my nails cause the way CD Reiss unveiled Greyson’s past hidden trauma was done meticulously and flawlessly. I had no idea where the story was going, all I knew was Caden and Greyson’s love was strong and could survive anything.
If you enjoy a psychological romance then The Edge series it IT.

About CD Reiss:
CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets. Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels. She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood. If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

Blurb:
Each day dies with night, and every dream fades in the morning.

That’s what Vincent Rossi knows. His life has been one tough break after another. Even when good things happen, they get destroyed because that’s how the universe works. It gives and it takes, but it mostly takes.
No matter how terrible today is, there’s always the promise of tomorrow.

That’s what Annalise Cantana knows. She’s experienced tragedy and triumph in her life. The tragedy happened to her. It was beyond her control. The triumph is her spirit, which, despite the odds, remains unbroken.

When this cynical man is hired to protect the woman who refuses to dwell on the negative, their lives become intertwined. Like opposing forces, Vincent and Annalise repel and attract until he is unable to resist the light she brings to each day. She thaws the ice in his veins and makes him smile. She cares about him in a way he doesn’t deserve.

But hidden beneath the closeness building between them lies a secret that could extinguish that light forever. It would devastate Annalise if she found out, and would unravel the hope Vincent finally dares to embrace.

In the end, he must make an impossible choice: hold tight to the first glimmer of happiness in his life, or forsake it all to save her and watch another dream turn to dust.

EXCERPT:
When I got out of the shower, I took my time brushing out my hair. Then I examined my knee, determined it was nothing worse than a bruise, pulled on my robe, and walked out to find Vincent sitting on the couch, looking like he wanted to murder me. My gaze swung from him to the door, which was closed, and the chain lying broken on the carpet.

“You broke in?”

“I used my key. Had to break the chain, though.”

“You have a key to my apartment?”

Vincent stood and stalked toward me. I stumbled back, and he caught me by the front of my robe, gripping it in his hand.

“You think this is a fucking joke?” He growled the question.

“No.”

“Then what? You like playing games?”

“I’m not playing games.” I tried to pull away, but he only tightened his hold.

“Then what is your fucking problem? I’m trying to protect you, and you lock me out in the hallway?”

“You’re my problem. I was scared, and when I tried to talk to you, you acted like I wasn’t even in the room. If I’m going to feel like I’m alone, I might as well be alone.”

Vincent looked at me as though he were seeing me for the first time today. We were both worked up, breathing hard, our faces only inches apart. I could feel his warm breath on my skin, and as he stared at me, the fire in his eyes flickered into something else. Remorse. Understanding.

“You’re not alone,” he said, his eyes holding me there, pinning me in place just as firmly as his hand gripping my robe.

As my anger faded, I became all too aware of his closeness. I could feel the heat coming off his body and smell the clean scent of his skin. His eyes searched mine, moving back and forth with a sheen of confusion, like he was caught up in a spell and didn’t know how to break it.

Then he leaned in closer, and my breathing hitched. I looked at his lips, so full and soft. When he licked them, my heart quivered in my chest. He wanted to kiss me. I felt it too strongly to be wrong. I wanted to kiss him too, and I longed for him to touch me.

His hand on my robe was so close to my skin. He only had to move the slightest bit and his fingers would brush the top of my breast. I imagined his hands on me, smoothing over my skin, and my core pulsed with desire. He moved even closer and I pulled in a quick breath of anticipation, but then his grip loosened and the heat coming off him disappeared.

Review Tour - Bring Down The Stars by Emma Scott

I fell for Connor Drake. I didn’t want to; I fought against it, but I fell in love with him anyway. With his words. With his poetry. With him. The gentleness and beauty of his soul that speaks directly to mine. He writes as if he can feel my heart, hear its cadence and compose the exact right lyrics to accompany every beat and flow. I’m in love with Connor…so why do I feel an inexplicable pull to his best friend, Weston? Grouchy, sullen, brooding Weston Turner, who could cut you down with a look. Fiercely intelligent with a razor sharp wit and acid tongue, he’s the exact opposite of Connor in every way, and yet there’s electricity in the air between us. The thorny barbs Weston wraps around himself can’t keep me away. But the more time I spend with these men, the more tangled and confused my emotions become. When they both sign up for the Army Reserves during a time of increasing strife in the Middle East, I fear I’ll never unravel my own heart that sometimes feels as if it will tear straight down the middle…for both of them. ********** Bring Down the Stars is an emotional, angst-filled novel of unrequited love by bestselling author, Emma Scott, and is inspired by the classic tale, Cyrano de Bergerac. (Roxanne) It is Book I in the Beautiful Hearts Duet, coming this summer. Book II, Long Live the Beautiful Hearts, to be released a few weeks later. #lovetriangle #confusedhearts #notamenage

I’m sitting here staring into space trying to fathom what I’ve just read cause I’m completely speechless and blown away by Bring Down The Stars by Emma Scott.
BDTS captures beautifully how love and loyalty will make you sacrifice your own happiness at the expense of your own. That’s exactly what Weston does for the people he loves. He sacrifices, gives and loves. Fiercely.

I’m in awe of his love and loyalty for Connor. His best friend no matter what. Their friendship is filled with love but also with Weston picking up Connor, making him feel and look good but for Weston it’s what’s right. Connor has had his back since they first met and he never forgets when people do right or wrong by him. That’s also why Weston is the way he is. He’s been hurt. He and his family. That’s why he’s not letting anyone close besides Connor cause that will only result in pain and loss. Connor is a guy who lives in the shadow of his older brother. He’s struggling with the expectations of his parents. His only support and light is his best friend Weston. Until the strong and independent Autumn captures both Connor and Weston’s attention and changes both lives and her own irrevocably.

These three characters are flawed and every layer is meticulously and flawlessly stripped as the story unfolds leaving me gasping and wanting for more. Falling even more love with every word. With Weston, Connor and Autumn.

Emma Scott did a number on me with BDTS. This story is honest and raw. Human connection and relationship are explored and depicted effortlessly and with a poignant vulnerability that only made the story hit me even harder.
Emma Scott and her books are destined to be in my life cause Bring Down The Stars is truly a treasure.

Later that night, Connor lay sprawled on the couch with SportsCenter blaring, scrolling his phone. I sat at the kitchen table, tapping my pen against an empty page in my notebook and contemplating running as my Object of Devotion. I couldn’t muster the blood and guts to put it to paper. I liked running. It served a purpose, but did I want to make it my life? “Oh shit,” Connor cried from behind me. “What is it?” “I accidentally texted her.” “Who?” I said, knowing damn well who. “Autumn. I was fucking messing around and I hit that stupid predictive text thing, then panicked and hit send.” “So what?” “I don’t text or call a girl until at least three days have passed.” I set down my pen and turned around. “Are you serious?” “Of course I’m serious. It looks desperate to text her the same day.” I hid a smile. “What did you text?” “Just ‘yes’.” His eyes widened. “Shit. She’s texting me back.” Connor jumped up from the couch and came to where I sat, standing next to my chair as we both watched his phone. Yes…? J Connor typed, Hey. I smirked. “Really?” “Yeah, so?” A pause, then a new text bubbled up. What’s up? “Now she’s annoyed,” I said. “Or impatient.” Connor looked to me. “What do I say?” “Why are you asking me?” “You’re good at this shit. How many papers did you write for me at Sinclair?” “This is not the same thing.” “Ballpark.” Connor made a face. “Dude, she’s waiting.” I frowned, thought for a moment. “Tell her the truth.” “Hell no—” “Tell her the truth but make it better. Tell her you were messing with your phone while thinking about her. Tell her that you wanted to talk to her so badly, your subconscious made it happen.” “Oh, that’s good.” Connor’s fingers flew, and then he hit send. There was a pause and no answer. Connor frowned. “What’s this mean?” “It’s good. I mean she’s thinking about what you said.” The rolling dots of Autumn’s reply came in. The old ‘accidental text’ move? I feel like I’ve seen that before…;-) “She’s not letting you off the hook so easily,” I said, smiling despite myself. “Don’t deny. Tell her she’s one hundred percent right. You’ll make any excuse to talk to her.” “That’s perfect, man.” Connor typed and hit send. I like your honesty, came the reply. “Hey, it’s working.” Connor beamed. “Now what?” It was working, and I didn’t like what it was. “I don’t know, man,” I said, waving a hand. “Type something. Whatever you’re thinking.” “I want her to go out with me.” “Then ask.” With a horrible fascination, I watched Connor type, So, dinner? “Jesus, dude,” I said. “What? That’s exactly what you told me to do.” “Not like that,” I said. “I told you she needs romance.” I don’t know, she wrote. I have so much work to do already. “Fuck,” Connor said. He nudged me with his phone. “Wes, man, you do it.” I blinked. “Do what now?” “Ask her out for me. The right way.” I stared. “Look, this girl is special. I’m not too proud to admit I need back-up getting things rolling with her.” He grinned that winning smile. “C’mon. Just this once.” “But…” Connor shoved his phone into my hand. “Come on, man. Do what you do. Write something witty and poetic. Something that’ll impress her enough to get me another text. Another…anything.” He clapped me on the shoulder. “Write something that knocks her on her ass and gets me in the door. That’s all I ask.” I looked at Connor's phone in my hand and Autumn Caldwell’s text, waiting for an answer. I felt my best friend’s expectations literally breathing down my neck as he leaned over me. Ignoring the small ache in my heart, I thought about what I would’ve said to Autumn had it been my phone in my hand, and began to type.

Every glare from those fire-spitting eyes, every time she grits her teeth,
gets me...well, you know.
If I had a dollar for every time she's put me in my place, I'd be an even richer man.
I'm a successful sports agent because I assume "no" means you'll think about it.
I'm sure what you meant to say is "Coming right up.”
They say even rich men don't always get what they want,
but those men don't know how to play the game. The trick is to keep them guessing.

BANNER
If I had a dollar for every time Jared Foster broke my heart, I’d have exactly one dollar.
One night. One epic fail. One dollar...and I'm out.
I've moved on.
I’ve found success in a field ruled by men.
Anything they can do, I have done better.
They can keep the field while I call the shots, blocking them when I have to.
And Jared has the nerve to think he gets a second chance?
Boy, please. Go sit down. Have several seats.
I'll just be over here ignoring the man carved from my fantasies with a lust-tipped chisel.
Oh, I didn't say the struggle wasn't real.
But I've got that one dollar, and Jared won't have me.
