This was my first Emma Chase book and the raving reviews
and talk only added to my excitement.
Sustained didn't disappoint!
It felt fresh to read the POV from a man's perspective
throughout the entire story.
Jake Becker is a defense attorney and takes his work very seriously.
He's not interested in anything
but a fun night and a great lay.
Speaking of women.
They are not a problem since Jake is one sexy ass man,
with tattoos and works out regularly.
He works with his friends,
Stanton, Sofia and Brent at the same firm.
As a kid he was bit of a wild child.
Got himself into trouble.
It wasn't until a certain judge took him under his wings,
that Jake found his true calling as an attorney.
Jake meets the gorgeous Chelsea,
when his wallet gets stolen by her nephew Rory.
Jake finds out that she's not only Rory's guardian
but also to his 5 other siblings.
I'm in awe of Chelsea who decides to take this task on.
To be the guardian to her deceased brother's six children.
She's so loyal and selfless.
To just give up her education and be a parent to these children.
Love and family means everything to her.
Her connection to Jake is right there from
the moment they first meet.
They just match each other perfectly.
Jake becomes a new and different man because of that.
Takes on more responsibility, especially with the children and starts to change.
But old habits die hard and Jake tries to go back to his old ways,
when it comes to women and relationships.
This was such a fun and fresh book. I enjoyed Jake's point of view.
Emma Chase knows how to write from a man's perspective.
I laughed out loud at times.
It felt so male and it was spot on.
It had the right amount of drama, romance and sex.
I'm now a fan of reading a book from a man's perspective, thanks to Emma Chase.
I can't wait to read about Brent who's next in the series.
