They say love and hate are the same feelings experienced under different circumstances, and it’s true.
The man who comes to me in my dreams also haunts me in my nightmares.
He is a brilliant lawyer.
A skilled criminal.
A beautiful liar.
A bully and a savior, a monster and a lover.
Ten years ago, he made me run away from the small town where we lived. Now, he came for me in New York, and he isn’t leaving until he takes me with him.
She is a starving artist.
Pretty and evasive like cherry blossom.
Ten years ago, she barged into my life unannounced and turned everything upside down.
She paid the price.
Emilia LeBlanc is completely off-limits, my best friend’s ex-girlfriend. The woman who knows my darkest secret, and the daughter of the cheap Help we hired to take care of our estate.
That should deter me from chasing her, but it doesn’t.
So she hates me. Big fucking deal.
She better get used to me.

L.J. Shen knows how to write broken,
flawed guys with an asshole attitude to boot.
That's exactly what Baron Spencer
aka Vicious was.
I met him and Emilia briefly
in the short novella Defy and was
immediately intrigued by them.
In Vicious I truly got to know him and the reason behind his horrible behavior towards Emilia.
Yes, he was a bully and treated her wrong but there was a reason behind it.
He liked it and for some
weird twisted reason so did she.
Their hate - lust relationship was interesting.
They both struggled with their feelings and being honest. They both used other people to hurt one another so they weren't without blame.
Their chemistry was amazing and what made it work was their ten years of history between them.
Vicious was seriously a damaged soul who should have had the right parents to begin with.
His soul was broken but not beyond repair.
He lashed out, not only at Emilia but whenever he felt cornered or didn't get his way.
He was truly a fascinating character.
I really liked Emilia too because she wasn't perfect. Far from it. Her attraction and lust for Vicious was her Achilles heal and vice versa.
She took crap repeatedly from Vicious but when it really mattered, she finally kicked ass and stood up for herself and her sister.
Emilia and Rosie's bond was very special and how they supported one another was beautiful.
Vicious and his Hothole crew was so much fun. Yes, they argued and fought but they were brothers nevertheless.
Vicious was a sexy, fun and very entertaining story. The characters were definitely what made this book and I can't wait to read the next story from the Hothole crew.
Her passion is to write badass stories, sushi, UFC and her awesome family and friends (not in this order, though. Obviously, sushi comes before writing. Oh, and also the family part.)
She spend the first half of her twenties traveling the world and is now paying all the fun with extra shifts in front of her MacBook. Feel free to contact her on her Facebook page. She loves to hear from her readers.
