Blurb:

Benny had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick.
Just like him, his dolly needed
darkness as a fix, fix, fix.
So they tormented and hunted
 and played tricks, tricks, tricks.
Together their sins a
 lethal mix, mix, mix.
 Until Benny missed his dolly
who was lost, lost, lost.
He needed to find her
and love her at any cost, cost, cost.
Not wanting him and his dolly
 to be alone, lone, lone.
He made plans to bring his dirty dolly,
 home, home, home.
Have you ever touched another’s soul with the essence of your own,
breathed them in so they become apart of you?
I have. Finally starting to live,
feel and fall in love,
amongst all the chaos surrounding me.
.Dropping my guard and
letting another into my heart.
I left my soul open.
I left my heart open.
I left the door open.
And he stole me.
Dillon…I’m sorry.

Phew, this duet and this final part of the story was exhilarating as hell.
The way it ended in Pretty Stolen Dolls kept me on the edge of my seat
and I was right back there
when I started the final part.
It was dark, raw and gritty
but it also had some light moments.

I needed to know what happened to Benny when he was a kid that made him turn into this crazy lunatic.
His story didn't disappoint.
It was horrific, terrifying and at same time also very heartbreaking.
Benny was molded by his parents and his surroundings.
How could he not have turned out like them when he experienced
so much death and pain.
Jade was a fighter and
didn't want her past to define her.
Yes, she once again went through hell
both physically and mentally
but she didn't give up.
She went to her safe place.
To her lover,
friend and partner,
Dillon.
He was fantastic in every way possible.
His love for Jade was what saved her
and he was resilient
in his fight for her and
for her to get closure.
Always patient and never pushed her
to do something she wasn't ready for.
Pretty Lost Dolls gave me the answers
I so desperately needed.
I was enthralled throughout
this final part of the story.
I enjoyed the psychological
aspects to the characters.
How deeply scarred and damaged
a person can be from
painful and horrific trauma.
Yet also some people have so much fight, spirit and hope that they don't give up.
Jade was one those people.

Kerr Dukey and K. Webster delivered
a terrific conclusion
to a fabulous and dark story.
The story was fast paced
and their writing flawless.
Definitely worth reading.

About Ker Dukey

My books all tend to be darker romance, edge of you seat, angst filled reads. My advice to my readers when starting one of my titles…prepare for the unexpected. I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters growing up. My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light; some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling. When I’m not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I’m a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister. Come find me on Facebook, where I love interacting with my readers.

HIT THE SPOT by J. Daniels

ABOUT THE BOOK

Title: HIT THE SPOT
Author: J. Daniels
Series: Dirty Deeds, #2
On Sale: December 6, 2016
Publisher: Forever
Trade Paperback: $14.99 USD
eBook: $3.99 USD

Is this love or just a game?

Tori Rivera thinks Jamie McCade is rude, arrogant, and worst of all . . . the sexiest man she's ever laid eyes on. His reputation as a player is almost as legendary as his surfing skills. No matter how her body heats up when he's around, she's determined not to be another meaningless hookup.

Jamie McCade always gets what he wants. The sickest wave. The hottest women. And Tori, with her long legs and smart mouth, is definitely the hottest one. He knows Tori wants him—hell, most women do—but she won't admit it. After months of chasing and one unforgettable kiss, it's time for Jamie to raise the stakes.

Jamie promises that soon Tori won't just want him in her bed, she'll be begging for it-and he might be right. Somehow he's found the spot in her heart that makes her open up like never before. But with all she knows about his past, can she really trust what's happening between them? Is Jamie playing for keeps or just playing to win?
Excerpt
Tori slapped the counter and gained everyone’s attention when she started yelling, “I did not run you over, Jamie! Jesus Christ! Quit spreading lies about me!”
“It ain’t lies if it's true!” I yelled back, glaring at her.
A laugh bubbled in her throat. She tilted her head and stuck her hand on her hip. “Please. I'm sure you're still able to bang everything with a pulse, as usual, which means you’re fine. Get over it, and grow some balls. I cried less when I watched Bambi the first time.”
“Who's hungry?” Syd asked nonchalantly, moving behind her friend to round the island and stand near the stove.
I ignored her question because, what the fuck? Grow some balls?
“I gotta pair, babe,” I told Legs, reaching down and palming my shit. “You should know since you've been all up on ’em the past nine months.”
She rolled her eyes. “You're disgusting.”
I felt my mouth twitch.
And that was when, for some fucked up reason, I reverted back to my old ways with Tori Rivera, forgetting all about how much I fucking hated her and instead going full-on, hell-bent determined to get an admission out of that smart-ass mouth.
“You want it,” I countered, tipping my chin up.
She wasn’t expecting that. No more than I was. It threw her off.
Her shoulders pulled back and her lips parted.
Then, maybe to cover her tell, or maybe she didn't have control over what was flying out of her mouth either, I didn't know, but she brought her other hand to her hip, glared at me with heat flashing in her eyes, tipped forward, and shot back with attitude, “You want it.”
Well shit. This was new. Legs was challenging me and she was doing it flirting. There was no doubt in my mind.
“Sorry, babe,” I said, keeping the smirk and letting go of my junk. “Not interested. I told you yesterday, I’m done waitin’ around. But you?” I pointed my beer at her. “You’ll be beggin' for it before the month is up. Just watch.”
“Fat chance,” she snapped. “I wouldn't sleep with you if my life depended on it.”
“Wanna bet?”
“Bet what?”
“What's going on right now?” Syd called out, but I wasn't pausing to answer her.
I smiled at Tori, then gestured between us, explaining, “First one to break and come crawling to the other person for sex, loses.”
“Are you serious?” She laughed, not in amusement but in disbelief.
“Yeah, I’m serious,” I answered.
“You want to bet me that I'll want to have sex with you before you try and have sex with me?” she questioned, moving her finger between us. “You, the guy who has been hitting on me for nine straight months and has been rejected for nine straight months? You seriously think I'll not only want to have sex with you, but I'll beg you for it? Is that what I just heard?”
I nodded slowly. I had this in the bag. “A rule. No fuckin’ anyone unless it's each other.”
Her eyes bugged.
“And no masturbating either,” I added, raising my beer and using it to gesture. “Since we both know when you do it you’re thinkin’ about me, and if you're that fuckin’ horny you need to rub one out or you'll fuckin' explode, you can come to me, Legs, beg, and I'll put that fire out for you.”

Move over Trouble aka Brian cause Jamie has taken your place and captured my heart.
I have to be honest and say, that I was a little skeptical about Jamie because he was all about the ladies and screwing around,
but after finishing Hit The Spot I can safely say I was wrong.
Very wrong about him and who he was as a person and as a man.
I liked the introduction of Tori in Four Letter Word and in Hit The Spot she went all out and showed me all her sides I came to enjoy and many many more.

Tori definitely didn't give Jamie an easy time even though he tried to win her over by showing her all of his moves.
It was a certain bet that slowly made them get to know one another more deeply.
Still Tori was very apprehensive of Jamie and letting him in her heart because of his behavior as a ladies man.
They played with each other, a push and pull game and I enjoyed how they both were affected by one another
yet still tried to play it cool.

Jamie showed his attentiveness and proved that once he made a promise he kept it.
He kept surprising me throughout the story and his care and want for Tori
was definitely swoon worthy.
Tori showed her growth
by taking risks and claimed Jamie
in a very hilarious scene at a restaurant.
So much fun. Yes, she was insecure about him at times but who could blame her with Jamie's track record of ladies.
If you've read a J. Daniels book before then you know that sex occurs and in Hit The Spot it's no different.
There's sex and plenty of it but that's also what makes it a J. Daniels book besides her lovable characters.
The connection and chemistry between Jamie and Tori was blazing hot.
No doubt about their want and need for each other but their friendship was just as important to me.
Brian and Sydney showed up too and it gave me the feeling of being a part of a family. Their dynamics were strong and enjoyed that Tori also had some scenes with Brian.
These four people have definitely
hit my soft spot.

Release Tour: On the Line by Victoria Denault

ON THE LINE RELEASE BLITZ BANNER.jpg

On the Line by Victoria Denault Publication Date: December 6th, 2016

Publisher: Forever Yours

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Denault_OnTheLine_ebook.jpg

Synopsis:

He had total control of his game--until she changed all the rules . . . As one of the best players in the NHL and the "golden boy" of the league, Avery Westwood knows he has to keep his cool--on and off the ice. His whole life is a carefully constructed image of perfection for the media and his brand sponsors. Of course, that means he can never let his true feelings show. But when it comes to the sexy sister of his former teammate, Avery might be willing to make an exception . . . even if it means breaking all his own rules. As far as Stephanie Deveau is concerned, having a thing for Avery is the equivalent of psychological napalm. Très bad idea. Then he moves in next door, all sexy smiles and a deliciously hot body that she can't resist. Something's happening between them--it's intense, a little (a lot) out of control, and real. Only Avery doesn't know everything about Stephanie's past. And the one exception to his rule might just be the one girl who could destroy his career.

Well slap me and call me Sally, where has Victoria Denault been all my life!
This was my first taste of her work and it was delicious.
The perfect prescription:
Take one Hot Jock and one Sexy Teammate's sister,
mix and consume
for a fantastic time!
Avery was a wet dream come true.
His body was a rock hard sculpture.
He was a calculated machine with a panty wetting smile and a Dirty Mouth. Biggest fault is being conditioned personally and professionally by his overbearing father /manager.
Stephanie was a triumphant woman making the most
out of her second chance.
She didn't hold back and she kept it 100% when it came to her opinion.
These two had an immediate attraction! They tried to act on it and some force of nature always intervened.
It was refreshing seeing Avery come into his own person and dominate his life. It was something he needed to do on his own and he found  a way to do it.  Steph knew he was always that man,  he just didn't believe in himself as she did.  What's crazy is that she struggled believing in her own happiness.
These two were a match that was destined to happen despite all the road blocks and I Love a Love like that.
The characters were so real it was uncanny. I mean really down to earth and the writing was superb!
All the relationships in this story were real-life like. It felt like a close knit family with some deceit,  drama and dysfunction,  you know nothing but an average "normal" family.
I was rooting for these two just like Avery's teammates were rousing him.
I have now found another awesome writer to stalk.

Blog Tour: Review Post~After We Fall by Melanie Harlow

SBPR-AWF-BT.jpg

After We Fall by Melanie Harlow

Publication Date: November 28th, 2016

Genre: Contemporary Romance

MHAfterWeFallBookCover5x8_BW_300.jpg

Synopsis:

Jack Valentini isn’t my type.
Sexy, brooding cowboys are fine in the movies, but in real life, I prefer a suit and tie. Proper manners. A close shave.
Jack might be gorgeous, but he’s also scruffy, rugged, and rude. He wants nothing to do with a “rich city girl” like me, and he isn’t afraid to say so.
But I’ve got a PR job to do for his family’s farm, so he’s stuck with me for ten days, and I’m stuck with him. His glares. His moods. His tight jeans. His muscles.
His huge, hard muscles.
Pretty soon there’s a whole different kind of tension between us, the kind that has me misbehaving in barns, trees, and pickup trucks. I’ve never done anything so out of character—but it feels too good to stop.
And the more I learn about the grieving ex-Army sergeant, the better I understand him. Losing his wife three years ago left him broken and bitter and blaming himself. He doesn’t think he deserves a second chance at happiness.
But he’s wrong.
I don’t need to be his first love. If only he’d let me be his last.
“Second chances are not given to make things right, but are given to prove that we could be even better after we fall.” —Unknown

Excerpt:

“Wow,” she said, shutting the screen door behind her. “That was close. Thank you so much.”
“You’re welcome.” I crossed my arms, wishing I’d thought to grab a shirt. “Want to tell me what you were doing out there?”
Her cheeks colored. “Um, I was taking a run.”
“Up a tree?”
She laughed nervously. “No. Well, I didn’t start out in a tree. That happened later.”
I cocked my head, unable to resist giving her a hard time. Not so sure of yourself now, are you, Barbie? “Oh yeah?”
“Yes. See, I left the cottage I’m renting without using the bathroom by mistake,” she began, twisting her fingers together, “and I was planning on running a loop around the farm, but it’s bigger than I thought.”
“Ah. So you were looking for a bathroom in the woods?”
“Well, yes.” She swallowed. “Sort of. But then I heard a splash and saw you…” Her cheeks were practically purple now.
I played dumb. “Saw me what?”
“Saw you naked, OK?” she blurted, throwing her hands up. “I admit it—I saw you naked.”
I had no hangups about nudity, but I was damn serious about my privacy, and about people sneaking up on me. But her embarrassment was funny. The two times I’d seen her before, she’d been so polished and poised. It felt good to put her in her place a little. “So you climbed a tree for a better view, is that it?”
Bowing her head, she dragged the toe of one shoe across the wood planks of the porch floor. “Something like that.” Then she looked up at me. Took a breath. “I’m really sorry. I shouldn’t have done that. I was—I mean, I got—I couldn’t—” She sighed, briefly closing her eyes. “I have no excuse. Will you accept my apology?”
She was prettier without makeup, I decided. And the way she wore her hair off her face emphasized the wideness of her eyes, the angle of her cheekbones, the arch of her brows. Her lips didn’t need all that glossy crap, either. They were a perfect rosy pink, and I wondered if they’d feel as soft as they looked.
Fuck. I hadn’t kissed anyone in three years.
Clearing my throat, I took a step back. “Yeah. It’s fine.” Now get out of here.
She didn’t move. “So you’re not going to fire me?”
“I never hired you.”
“I know. But I really want this job. I think I can help, Jack. I know I can.”
“Suit yourself. I want nothing to do with it.” My name on her lips was trouble. Needing some distance from her, I started walking toward the dock to get my shoes and socks, but she followed me. God, she was a pest. It reminded me of the way Steph used to tag along after the boys when we were kids, wanting to get in our games.
“Are you going to be like this the entire time I’m here?” she asked.
“Like what?”
“Moody and uncooperative?”
“Probably.”
“Why? Do you hate me that much?”
“I don’t hate anybody. I just don’t see why we should pay some city girl who’s never set foot on a farm to advise us.” We reached the dock, and I leaned down to get my stuff.
“I’m not even asking to be paid, so piss off!” she shouted, her voice carrying on the water.
I straightened. “Oh, you’re working for free?”
“Yes!”
“Then you’re an idiot. Or so rich you don’t need the money.”
“I’m not an idiot,” she said through clenched teeth.
“So you’re rich, then.” I don’t know why I was being such an asshole. But for some reason, I did not want to let her see another side of me, or see another side to her. “I should have guessed.”
She crossed her arms. “And what’s that supposed to mean?”
“It means you look like you’ve led a charmed life. Like you’ve had everything you’ve ever wanted handed to you. Like you’ve never gotten your hands dirty.”
“So get them dirty.”
I almost fell off the dock. “What?”
“Get them dirty. Teach me about working this farm. I want to learn.”
Was she serious? The last thing I needed was to drag her ass around all day, explaining things. Or stare at her ass all day, imagining things. But one look at her defiant face and I shook my head. “Why do I feel like if I say no, you’ll just keep bothering me?”
She smiled and clasped her hands behind her back, rocking forward on her toes. “Because I will. I don’t like being told no.”
“Of course you don’t.” Jesus, she was trouble. A bad apple—smooth and shiny on the outside, spoiled rotten on the inside. But for no good reason, I found myself giving in. “Fine. Go change your clothes.”

I'm a sucker for broken and flawed heroes who have suffered losses and that's exactly what Jack had endured.
He was still grieving and blamed himself for the death of his wife.
Also nightmares from his time in Afghanistan were haunting him.
Jack was lost in the same spiral of not thinking he deserved to love again and placed the blame on one person.
Himself
I liked his relationship with his brothers Brad, Pete and his wife Georgina and their son Cooper. Jack loved his family and especially spending time with his nephew.

Margot was the total opposite of Jack.
She came from a wealthy family not needing anything in life whereas the Valentini family was a hard working one.
Yes, Margot was a city girl
but she wasn't snobby.
No, she was funny, caring and very understanding of Jack's situation.
I really liked and appreciated how attentive she was when mentioning
Jack's deceased wife.
Margot was respectful and how she carried herself also showed that.
CityGirl.jpg
The banter when they first met was filled with so much tension and I could easily feel their attraction towards one another.
When they both caved my kindle almost caught fire. Their chemistry was sizzling. Jack was a very sensitive man who needed to be loved and to love again.
How he slowly started to do that for Margot made my heart melt but I also got
frustrated because of his difficulty
of letting go and moving on.
It was a very enjoyable read and Jack's journey towards acceptance and letting go of his deceased wife proved to be the ultimate test for them both.
Melanie Harlow knows how to write broken and flawed heroes and
Jack was a perfect example of that.
I wouldn't mind a Valentini man of my own.

Dashing Through the Snow by M.Leighton

Need some fun to brighten up the holidays?  Need some heat to warm up the cold nights?  Well, this is just the thing.  DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW, a sexy, snowy Christmas story by M. Leighton is LIVE!

A dash of perfect for the holidays!

Dilyn Hart hates Christmas, so when her boss (and ex-boyfriend) hands her an assignment to interview champion snowboarder and gorgeous playboy extraordinaire, Dash Grainger, on Christmas Eve, she takes it. There are several things she doesn’t plan for—a surly driver, a chalet in the middle of nowhere, a freak snowstorm—but the biggest surprise of all is Dash himself.

Dash Grainger lives for the high, and so far in his twenty-six years, he’s never met anyone or anything he loves more. Nothing has ever thrilled him as much as slick snow, cold air, and breakneck speed.

Until he meets Dilyn.

But one perfect night doesn’t mean clear, blue skies the next day. Some storms can’t be weathered.

Christmas might just be one of them.

My goodness does this story spread plenty of  warmth
 throughout your body.
If you're looking for a book to curl up on the couch and read during the holidays, this is definitely it.

DAMN Dash is breathtaking!
He has the confidence of a
King and the body of a God.
He Always gets what he wants!
He's an adrenaline junky
that hides his woes deep inside.
He knew he had an affect on most women, he just wasn't ready for Dilyn and how she affected him.
Dilyn was a very stong willed woman.  She seemed to all put together until she actually set eyes on Dash.
These two had unmistakable chemistry. Leighton didn't disappoint with this angsty short story for the holidays.
She knows exactly how to make it feel like a full blown novel by making the characters so relatable.
The flow was unbelievably smooth!
I love that it wasn't a picture perfect romance and that it
felt like these were my friends.
I hope these two have more to their story down the road.
